Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

While robots aren't able to replace a traditional vacuum in removing ground-in debris like metal screws and pieces of orzo pasta, they're great in sweeping dust, crumbs and hair from pets. The best models have intelligent navigation technology and object avoidance features that help them maneuver around toys, cords and other obstacles in the household.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a fantastic robot vacuum that has a number smart features to make it easier to maintain. Its automatic bin emptying is one of the most convenient features we've encountered in the form of a robot and it's compatible on both hard floors and carpets. It's also easy to install and use and the app will guide you through the process step-by-step. Another feature that is impressive is its ability to return to where it left off in our tests--it did this for 77 minutes on one cleaning, before running out of battery.

The i3+ EVO is different from the other robot vacuums we have tested, has a self-emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris into an external dirt container on its charging base when it is fully filled. The i3+ EVO is able to prevent overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However, it must still be manually emptied at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L, which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.

This model, like the i7, uses cutting-edge floor-tracking sensors to produce maps. It also lets you navigate through neat rows.  robotic vacuum cleaner  i3+ EVO can only keep one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7 is also able to use its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO can't.

The i3+ EVO does a better job of removing debris from the surface compared to some other robovacs we've looked at, but it's not the most effective in cleaning corners and edges. It's also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It moved chairs away from walls, and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and it became stuck on cords and toys while testing.

2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro

Whether you're expanding your robot vacuum collection or just starting out, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It features a sleek design with a powerful navigation system, as well as efficient automation at a low cost. It's the most affordable model for the money on the market at the moment, and it even matches other Roborock models which are much more expensive in many ways.

This robot is fantastic at cleaning floors that are dirty, and its avoidance tech helps it steer away from furniture legs or other obstacles. It also does well on carpet and earns an excellent score in our navigation tests. The only issue is that it's a little louder than other models we test, and it doesn't fare similarly in our user satisfaction and predicted reliability tests.

The Q5 Pro comes with a large dust container of 770ml, which means that you won't need to empty it as often as other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also generous when in comparison to other 2-in-1 robots that we tested. When the battery is low, it automatically returns to its dock, where it recharges and then resumes cleaning from where it began. You can manage the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

This is one of the first robots we've seen to incorporate 3D mapping. This, along with other innovations, helps it perform exceptionally well in our vacuuming and mopping tests. It is possible to schedule cleanings and set up no-go zones. You can also see the battery's status. The app is easy to use, however it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit. The feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to indicate that this feature will be delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with other robots, but Siri Shortcuts are.

3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus

The Tapo RV30 Plus TP-Link robot vacuum cleaner is a fantastic option if you're searching for a vacuum that is able to mop and is reasonably priced. It offers an impressive set of features for the price and has a chic design. You can control it using the buttons on the device, via the app or even with voice commands. The device is powered by batteries, and the vacuum container can automatically empty itself.

The TP-Link RV30 Plus does a great job at vacuuming standard messes and is suitable for light mopping on hard floors. It comes with mopping cloths and a replacement sweeping brush as well as a HEPA filter. It can be connected to smart hubs such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to allow voice control. The TP-Link RV30 Plus can be easily set up and can be connected to various floor surfaces with the automatic mode. This guarantees the best cleaning results for every floor and room.

You can choose from three cleaning modes to suit your requirements. The vacuuming mode makes use of the smart sensor for detection of obstacles like furniture, stairs, and edges. The mopping feature can be used to automatically clean your floor or remove stubborn stains and liquid spills. You can combine the two functions to achieve an efficient and thorough cleaning.

With powerful suction and three settings for dry mopping, the TP Link RV30 Plus is quick to remove dust, pet hair, crumbs and other debris from all flooring types. The device can even clean carpets without damaging them thanks to specially designed mop.

During the first mapping session the TP-Link RV30 Plus scans and records the layout of your home using its LiDAR and Gyro dual navigation system. The map can be edited within the app and you can combine or divide rooms however you like. You can also set up no-go zones and virtual walls to stop the RV30 Plus from wandering into areas that you don't want it access.

4. Eufy iMop

The Eufy iMop is one of the top full-featured robot vacuum and mop combos for hard floors. It has a high-tech mapping system that maps your home even across multiple floors. The base station is well-designed and automates cleaning to a large degree. It offers excellent obstacle avoidance and navigation.

This model uses a dToF internal LiDAR sensor to map your home, creating efficient cleaning routes. The iMop awed us with its analysis of coverage and navigation efficiency, and it was very efficient in avoiding obstacles, including furniture. It's also able to find its way back to the base station which is a great benefit in the event it's running out of battery during cleaning.

The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a specific space on your floor. And it can be manually programmed to follow a fixed path, which is useful if you have narrow hallways or stairs. It did a decent job of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning review however, it had trouble with higher pile carpets and rugs. It is also possible to set it to automatically lift the mop pad once it comes in contact with carpet. This is a wonderful option if you wish to not mop your carpets.

The iMop comes with an onboard dust bin and water tank, which it is empty at the conclusion of every cleaning session. The onboard dust bin holds up to 2.5 liters of debris. It is only required to be emptying it every few cleaning cycles. The water tank can handle more than a dozen mopping sessions before it is empty. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than the standard robot vacuum, which could be a big selling point for busy families.

The iMop smartphone app is simple to use and has a lot of configuration options. It comes with different suction settings as well as mopping settings, and scheduling. It also lets you create virtual walls and no-go zones so the robot won't wander into areas that aren't safe for it. In addition, the application provides access to your iMop's status and warnings about errors.
